No social security income increase
50 million people are not going to get the 'raise' they expected. Inflation is just not what it used to be and negative inflation, or something close to that, means by law that social security payments will not increase in 2010. This is The Washington Post version of the story. 50 million is a lot of angry people. How many of them are going to 'take it out' on Twitter?
I started the search as soon as I read that there would be no increase. I tried several phrases to find the best. At that time the best was "social security increase." However, it only produced between 300 and 400 messages. The first one specifically saying there would be no increase was from October 8. By evening the number was only up to 680. Apparently people over 65 do not, first, turn to the internet.

The total was 859. There was a stream of messages before the announcement. Then a spike of modest proportions and quickly falling back to the level before the announcement.
